  • About this Coffee: Papua New Guinea occupies the eastern part of the world's second largest island. It’s a country with a warm tropical climate located in the southwestern hemisphere. The Sigri Coffee Estate is located in the Waghi Valley, a fertile region of the western highlands. The estate runs social programs that provide housing for coffee laborers and free schooling for their children. This coffee’s exceptional quality is the result of many factors in the farming practices. After being pulped, this coffee goes through three days of washing and fermentation, then dried on raised beds, followed by a series of special sorting guidelines, “Kula Process” that include color and hand sorting, selecting only peaberries, a naturally occurring phenomenon inside the coffee fruit where only one seed forms instead of two, giving it a rounder shape. The Kula Peaberry green coffee is generally about 6% of the total green coffee crop. In the cup you will taste the caramelized crispy edges of a fried plantain, graham crackers, and a lush milk chocolate finish.
